The major YMCA Convention for the Asia and Pacific region - the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (APAY) General Assembly - will be held in Penang, Malaysia from 6 - 10 September 2011. The General Assembly will be preceded by the APAY Youth Assembly from 4 - 6 September, also in Penang.
The General Assembly is an opportunity for YMCA staff, volunteers and directors from across the region to gather and assess what has been achieved over the past four years and to determine what the YMCA will achieve in the region for the next four years. It is an uplifting, fun, informing, learning experience and it is an opportunity to understand the work of the YMCA in this rich and diverse region. You will be humbled and blown away by the work this organisation does across the Asia and Pacific region.
The Youth Assembly is likewise extraordinarily rewarding. Young people from around the region gather to exchange stories, learn from one another, and to put their views to the General Assembly on how they see the YMCA best working for the people of the region for the next four years.
