Volunteering
The YMCA is a volunteer led organisation and volunteers are highly respected in our movement.
There are opportunities to be a volunteer in many of our centres.
You might have governance skills you would like to share with us as a Board memebr, or perhaps you would like to work with young people on one of our youth programmes, camps or school holiday programmes.
In most cases, there is some great training available too!
You can contact your local YMCA, call the National Office on 0800 GET YMCA (0800 438 9622) or drop us an email at national@ymca.org.nz.
Donating
The YMCA is a non profit community organisation and a registered charity.
While we must generate some of our own funding in order to provide our services, we rely on and are alway greatly appreciative of any donations. These donations allow us to provide opportunities for people (often young people) who otherwise might miss out.
If you are considering making a donation (which is tax-free) please call your local YMCA or if you prefer, call us at the National Office on 04-568 YMCA (04-568 9622) or send us an email at national@ymca.org.nz and a YMCA manager can call you at your convenience. We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you.
Bequests
While death, and the things that often occur when death happens, can be a difficult subject for many people to talk about, the reality is that all of us will at some point come to the end of our mortal lives.
Most of us are encouraged to write and update our will so that those who are left behind are very clear about what we wish to happen to our estate.
We at the YMCA would be honoured if you would consider us when you next update your will by making provision for a bequest.
It is not the happiest subject to talk about, but if you do want to help us to continue growing great New Zealanders, please talk to your lawyer or give us a call on 04-568 9622. Or you can send us an email at national@ymca.org.nz and we will call you at a time that is convenient to you.
Membership
You know, you don't have to be a member to enjoy most of the benefits of the YMCA.
However, there are benefits to membership and these benefits often extend to YMCAs overseas.
For more information, contact your local YMCA or contact us at the National Office at national@ymca.org.nz or 04-568 9622
